Slaskpappret The People skriver att spanske forwarden, 17-årige Fran Merida kan skickas tillbaka till Spanien. Ett beslut som skulle ha tagits redan innan spansk civilrättslig domstol beslutat att Arsenal ska betala drygt £2 miljoner kronor till Barcelona för den unge talangen.
Orsaken ska, enligt The People, vara att Merida inte anses vara snabb nog;
"Arsenal are planning to sell the youngster after a backroom "poll" on his talents and checks on his game statistics. There is a fear Merida, 17, may not be mobile enough or quick enough and he seems set to be shipped out, possibly back to Spain."
Samtidigt publicerar den officiella propagandawebben ett porträtt kring nämnde Merida där man snarare får intrycket av at than är beredd på att succesivt slå sig in i laget:
"The Spaniard hopes that his cameo appearance is not his only opportunity to play under Arsène Wenger.
- It’s good to always be thinking about it, and aiming for the Carling Cup squad. The boss likes to bring some of us boys through into the first team, and we must work hard in order to prove we are ready for that level."
